Money Causing Stress Problem in Marriages

Money is one of the most common causes of arguments in marriage. It is very hard to discuss money matters with your partner. Couples should learn how to discuss such matter properly. Although both of you have different outlook when it comes to spending, it is still better to deal with this earlier than ignore this issue just because you do not know how to relay it your partner.

The best advice to give to a couple who suffers from financial problems is for both of them to talk with all the data of the expenses In front of them. As for this, exert extra effort in listing all the expenses so both of you would know where is your money going. Of course, the big expenses were the ones to be considered first but also do not take for granted the smaller expenses because sometimes when smaller expenses are combined they become a lot bigger than the major expenses. Also, jot down the predetermined expenses such as water and electric bills, food and tuition fees if you have children who go to school.

If you think that your budgeting is ok, then it is time for you to save some money. It is necessary because you may never know when you will have emergencies. Also assign each other who will be in charge to pay for a certain expenses so that when the date comes that you will have to pay for it there will be no finger pointing. Let each other have their own money for their personal expenses so that you will never have to consult each other on small purchases, but of course, for the big expenses, both of you should ask each other.

Once you discuss your budget or the money, be professional. Don't be angered easily or don't blame your partner if you think he was the one who causes shortage in your family budget, instead talk to him in a nice way.

Even if you have a little budget, always make it a habit to set aside a small amount for treats. Try going out on a simple date. It will not only make you feel better but the time you will spend on each other will make your relationship stronger.
