Hyper Tension: Handle in the Work Place
Do you encounter difficulties in dealing with tension in the work place specifically among your employees getting into tense situations with each other?
Today's accelerating pace of life and business greatly multiplies the opportunities of person-to-person conflict. Ironically enough, one of the top factors of success is the ability to get along and work with other people.
Do you have what it takes to control and take the pressure off a tense situation between you and another person or diffuse a perhaps a boiling debate between others? It is very important in today's business world to learn how to disarm and resolve negative confrontational interactions between people. Having this ability and knowing when and how to use it is essential in your personal and business.
It is nearly impossible to work effectively and grow professionally if you cannot free yourself and people around you from confrontational and potentially situations.
Following are five pro-active ways to manage conflict effectively:
- Know and understand the critical requirements for collaborative thinking. Collaborative thinking involves your employees or co-workers into a more positive interaction.
- Align responsibilities based on particular needs of your employees. Tension usually occurs when an employee is not busy enough doing work that they are capable of handling. Give them a sense of responsibility to help them build up their self esteem and expect them to work with others.
- Understand that on a regular basis, the practice of building daily interaction offers support to others. Two negatives do not make a positive. Being aware of a tension, do not fight it with another tension. Do not take sides, support both parties and settle the problem intelligently.
- Learn to use conflict resolution and negotiation skills to enable you to resolve various types of challenges in the workplace. Be flexible and help ease various levels of confrontations.
- Developing a personal system to obtain the tools needed for dealing with tensions and heavy pressure. Read self-development books, listen to positive tapes or even learn a new course in people management because these will provide you the necessary tools in diffusing tension at work.
